Common information Chief Accountant – Role Overview The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, effective financial controls, and adherence to accounting and regulatory requirements across the company’s operations. At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Accountant, Head of Accounting, or in a similar senior accounting role. Experience in fintech, cryptocurrency, virtual assets, trading, or financial services is strongly preferred. Deep knowledge of general tax and accounting regulations, as well as specific tax and accounting regulations related to virtual assets and trading operators. Strong understanding of the reporting regime applicable to companies operating in the virtual asset sector, especially trading operators. Hands-on experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash planning, and management reporting. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax reporting, and statutory reporting requirements. Experience with multi-currency accounting and foreign exchange transactions. Experience working with companies controlled by foreign investors. Strong knowledge of accounting software and financial systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong management, communication, and coaching skills. Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Fluency in English. Duties Accounting & Financial Reporting Oversee the full accounting cycle and ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions. Ensure preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with applicable accounting standards and local regulations. Establish and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Review and ensure the accuracy of reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll, and other accounting areas. Tax & Regulatory Compliance Ensure full compliance with applicable tax and accounting legislation. Prepare and oversee timely submission of tax returns, statutory reports, and other regulatory filings. Monitor changes in tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements and ensure their implementation within the company. Ensure compliance with specific tax and accounting requirements applicable to virtual assets and trading operators. Maintain proper documentation and records required for tax and regulatory inspections. Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, regulators, and external advisors when required. Virtual Assets & Trading Operations Oversee accounting treatment and reporting of virtual assets, trading activities, fees, commissions, and related transactions. Ensure proper accounting and documentation of multi-currency transactions and foreign exchange operations. Ensure compliance with the reporting regime applicable to companies operating in the virtual asset sector, particularly trading operators. Develop and maintain accounting procedures for virtual asset transactions in accordance with applicable regulations and accounting standards. Budgeting & Financial Control Participate in budgeting, forecasting, cash planning, and financial analysis. Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts. Support management with financial information and analysis for decision-making. Identify accounting, tax, and financial risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Strengthen internal financial controls and ensure proper segregation of duties.
